ChatGPT plugin setup
Connect kordi to ChatGPT.
There are two different ways to connect kordi. Choose the instructions for the ChatGPT surface you are using—web and the desktop app do not use the same setup.

ChatGPT web setup — 37-second walkthrough
This real, silent walkthrough shows the Settings → Plugins screen, the plugin directory, and the connected kordi plugin. Use the complete field-by-field steps below to create your own connection.
ChatGPT on the web
Plugins + OAuth
Use Settings → Plugins, create a kordi plugin, then choose Sign in with kordi. No token needed.
ChatGPT desktop app / Codex
MCP server + token
Use Plugins → MCPs → Add server, choose Streamable HTTP, and supply a kordi token through KORDI_TOKEN.
Web: no kordi token—use the secure Sign in with kordi screen. Desktop app: generate a kordi token first, then use the separate desktop steps below.

ChatGPT on the web: Plugins + OAuth
Follow these six steps if your Plugins screen has Browse plugins and a round + button.
Open ChatGPT Settings
In ChatGPT, open your profile menu and choose Settings. On the Settings screen, click Plugins in the left-hand menu. Do not look for “Create” on this first screen.
What you should see: a Plugins settings page with your installed plugins and a Developer mode row near the bottom.

⚙ Developer mode ›
Turn on Developer mode
Click Developer mode, then turn on the Developer mode toggle. It is under Advanced security. Leave the other options alone; you only need the first toggle enabled.
If you cannot turn it on: your ChatGPT plan or workspace administrator may not allow developer mode.
Developer mode
Developer mode ELEVATED RISK
Allows you to add unverified connectors that could modify or erase data permanently.
Enforce CSP in developer mode
Leave this setting as ChatGPT has it.
Find the New Plugin button
Go back one screen to Settings → Plugins. Click Browse plugins. At the top right of the Plugins directory, click the round + button immediately to the right of Search plugins. That + opens New Plugin.
Important: “Create” is not on the Developer mode page. It appears only after you click this + button.

ChatGPT desktop app / Codex: MCP server + token
Use this path when your desktop Plugins page has an MCPs tab and an Add server button—the screen shown above is not the web Plugins directory.

Desktop / Codex MCP setup in 9 seconds
The Desktop/Codex form is different from the web plugin form. It uses a kordi token stored as KORDI_TOKEN, then the Streamable HTTP server fields shown in this recording.
Create a kordi token
Open kordiapp.com/token, sign in, and generate a token. Copy it somewhere safe. The desktop app uses this token instead of the web app’s OAuth sign-in.
Treat it like a password. You can revoke it from Connected AI Apps on the same kordi page.
kordi token
Create a 90-day token for MCP clients.
Save the token as KORDI_TOKEN
The Bearer token env var field wants the name of an environment variable—not the token itself. On macOS, open Terminal and run the command below, replacing the value with your token. Then fully quit and reopen the ChatGPT desktop app.
launchctl setenv KORDI_TOKEN "paste-your-kordi-token-here"
Do not put the token in the server name, URL, or Headers fields.
Terminal
$ launchctl setenv KORDI_TOKEN
"kordi_••••••••"
Quit ChatGPT completely, then open it again.
Open MCPs and add a server
In the ChatGPT desktop app, open Settings → Plugins. Select the MCPs tab, then click + Add server. Do not use the Plugins or Apps tabs for this setup.

If something does not work
“I can’t access kordi in this workspace”: you likely opened the chat before connecting. Start a new chat, add kordi with @kordi or + → More, then try again.
No + button / no Browse plugins: make sure Developer mode is enabled in Settings → Plugins → Developer mode. Workspace availability can also be controlled by your plan or administrator.
Plugin stays Disconnected: open the installed kordi plugin and use its Connect button. Creating the plugin does not sign you in.
Need to remove access? Disconnect kordi in ChatGPT’s plugin settings or revoke it from Connected AI Apps in kordi.
